Our Aim

We want to enhance the importance of music in education and health and to broaden the knowledge and respect for other cultures and diversity.

Even though the sound therapy and musical meditation sessions are a very important part of what we do, the main focus of our activities is to educate children and adults about other cultures and tribes all around the world, through the introduction of their musical instruments and sounds. We call this session the World Music Journey™.
In a typical session, we run through a very big world map and drive the attendees through a journey where we stop in different geographic places and show videos/pictures about a culture/tribe; we share anecdotes and stories about their traditions, especially about their musical styles, musical instruments, and how the music affects and shapes their everyday life and habits.
We then play those instruments and teach the participants how to play, we make them interact creating musical jam sessions where everyone is involved.

About Us

We are a Community Interest Company composed by music teachers, musicians and music therapists. We aim to hightlight the importance of music in education and health.
We want to put music at the centre, the core that is merging history, geography, anthropology, psychology and civic education.
This 2 videos show where do we came from, what were we doing before we joined forces:

Music is our universal language, through music all beings are able to communicate from different countries and cultures, and can be a powerful tool for promoting peace and unity!
Every culture, tribe, communities have different types of instruments and ancient musical traditions.
We aim to give access to different musical cultures around the world through interaction with different instruments and their sounds, giving community members the opportunity to have different experiences and extend their knowledge and understanding of the world.

Our weekly workshops

MUSICAL MEDITATION
FREE – No age restriction

If you are stressed, anxious, or having troubles to relax and sedate the impulsive mind chatting, there is nothing more effective than the healing power of tailored sound.
In this workshop the attendees are invited to lay down or sit down comfortably, breath deeply and just relax. Many music instruments will be played (didgeridoo, fujara, native american flute, dan moi, shruti box, guitar, vocals, steel tongue drum, shakers,…) in a smooth and progressive way. The effects that the attendees normally experience are deep body relaxation and an empty and clear mind. Often, the participants forget about the daily stress and troubles. The effects of these sound baths are beneficial also to sleep, digestion, and memory.

THE WORLD MUSIC JOURNEY
FREE – 0-12 with parents

We create a big organic music band, our community band, made by kids and their families, and we play together sharing rhythm and interactive musical games. Every participant will have the opportunity to play different instruments and interact with everyone else, through sounds, rhythms, creative games, no matter the age or the skill level. The attendees normally experience a great sense of connection, happiness, self confidence and relaxation during and after the sessions.
